BASSETERRE, St. Kitts -- AUTHORITIES have launched an investigation following a late-night robbery and assault targeting a well-known businessman at the Federation’s premier sporting complex.
The incident occurred on last evening (May 12) between 11:30 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. at Warner Park. According to to a police media statement, the businessman was approached by two armed assailants shortly after closing.
Police disclosed that the perpetrators physically assaulted the businessman, forcibly took an undisclosed sum of money, and then swiftly fled the scene.
The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was reported to have sustained injuries.
