Vehicle overturns in Keys; driver unhurt

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE life of one motorist was thankfully spared after a perilous road accident that occurred yesterday afternoon (Dec. 11) along the Keys main road.

According to a release issued by the Police Public Relations and Press Office, motor jeep PA 5422, driven by Linetta Daniel of Jessup’s, Nevis, was travelling from Cayon towards Basseterre at around 1:35 p.m. But on reaching Keys, the village immediately after Cayon, her white Honda CR-V collided with the curb on the seaward side.

The police reported that Daniel then lost control of the vehicle, which flipped over the curb and landed on its left side in a field separating the ocean from the road.

The vehicle sustained extensive damage, particularly to its left side and windshield, and although Emergency Medical Service units were called to the scene, Daniel escaped the crash unscathed.

An officer from the Cayon Police Station told this media house that there was as yet no evidence suggesting Daniel had been speeding at the time of the accident; however, investigations are ongoing.
