CHARLESTOWN, Nevis -- POLICE confirmed that one person is dead and another injured following a shooting incident on Nevis last evening.
In a brief statement to reporters, the Communications Department noted that two individuals were wounded in the incident, with one fatality and the other person seriously injured.
An official statement is expected to be issued shortly.
The Federation has experienced a number of shooting incidents in recent weeks, which police and politicians have described as an increase in criminal activity. These instances of crime are a major concern as the Federation prepares to host its marquee 'Summer of Fun,' beginning with the St. Kitts Music Festival next month.
