CHARLESTOWN, Nevis -- POLICE announced on Sunday that they have charged Raphael Wallace with murder and attempted murder in connection with the shooting incident on May 24 that left one person dead and another seriously injured.

In their statement, the police revealed that Wallace, 32, of Hamilton, Nevis, was formally charged on two warrants for murder and attempted murder related to the incident on Poinciana Drive, Hamilton, which resulted in the death of Joelle Huggins and left her brother, Julian Huggins, seriously wounded.

Wallace was charged on June 1 at the Cotton Ground Police Station.

In recent weeks, the police force has intensified efforts to bring perpetrators to justice as the Federation has experienced an upsurge in criminal activities.

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force urged anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.

“The safety and security of our communities are of the utmost importance, and the RSCNPF remains dedicated to ensuring that justice is served. We deeply appreciate the public’s cooperation and support as we continue our efforts to maintain law and order and protect our citizens, residents, and visitors,” the police force said in a statement.
