BASSETERRE, St. Kitts -- POLICE recently confiscated several quantities of white powdery substances, which were later confirmed to be cocaine.
The latest discovery occurred on June 4th, when officers from the Anti-Narcotics Unit of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) conducted a search of an abandoned building in Dorset Village, St. Kitts.
In a media statement, police disclosed that the search led to the seizure of a plastic bag containing “what was suspected to be seven (7) grams of cocaine”.
Cromwell Henry, Deputy Commissioner of Police, confirmed the find to SKNVibes News on the afternoon of June 8th that the substance was field tested and confirmed to be cocaine.
The suspected narcotics were subsequently seized by the police. As of now, no one has been held responsible for the contraband.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident on June 8th, 2024, police said that between 9:00 a.m.and 10:00 a.m., three rounds of ammunition were recovered in the Conaree area by patrolling St. Kitts - Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF) soldiers.
The ammunition was found inside a container observed in the brush near the basketball court.
Investigations into both matters are underway.
