BASSETERRE, St. Kitts -- POLICE confirmed late this afternoon that the young man injured in yesterday’s (June 18) accident in Newtown has succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the JNF Hospital.
The young man has been identified as James Morton of Monkey Hill, St. Peters, who was struck early in the morning along George Street.
According to the police's preliminary investigation, Morton was struck by a vehicle while on George Street. He was rushed to the Joseph N. France General Hospital with severe head injuries and was warded in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in critical condition.
Late this afternoon, the police reported that he had "succumbed to his injuries." The driver of the vehicle involved was apprehended by law enforcement as the investigation continues.
