BASSETERRE, St. Kitts -- Akeem Whyte has been formally charged following his arrest in connection with a recent accident that resulted in the death of James Morton, a Monkey Hill resident.
The 33-year-old of Taylor’s Housing was charged on June 21 with the offence of Murder in connection with Morton’s death.
Morton, aged 31, was struck by a vehicle on George Street on June 18 and was rushed to Joseph N. France General Hospital with severe head injuries.
He was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in critical condition and succumbed on June 19th.
Whyte was charged at the Basseterre Police Station.
