BASSETERRE, St. Kitts -- SAFETY and security remain significant concerns within the Federation, as two more business establishments were robbed, this time in the Cayon area.
Police reported that on June 19, a single armed male assailant entered Penny’s Supermarket in Cunningham Village between 9:00 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. and committed the robbery.
Initial investigations by the police revealed that the masked male assailant entered the store during closing time and demanded money. After obtaining a sum of money from the cash register, he made good his escape. No one was injured during the incident.
In a second incident, which occurred on last evening Jun. 21), police revealed that the Green Valley Super Gas Station was robbed between 7:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
According to their media statement, initial inquiries revealed that two armed male assailants, disguised as women and wearing wigs, sunglasses, and surgical masks, entered the establishment’s mini-mart. The disguised duo stole a sum of money from the cash register and then made their escape.
Police stated that no injuries were sustained during this incident as well. Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
