CHARLESTOWN, Nevis -- ON Wednesday (Jun. 26), police provided further details surrounding the shooting death of Alexis Hendrickson, bringing the number of deaths to 17.
The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) confirmed that it is currently investigating a shooting incident that took place in Pond Hill, Nevis. The incident occurred between 5:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., resulting in the death of thirty-two-year-old Alexis Dennis Hendrickson, a resident of Pond Hill.
Police stated that preliminary investigations revealed Hendrickson was confronted by two armed assailants shortly after leaving his home. The assailants fired multiple shots at Hendrickson, striking him several times and resulting in his death at the scene.
A probe is currently underway to locate the two assailants.
The Federation has seen an uptick in gun violence, with the police force and other law enforcement agencies working to combat the problem.
