Rodrigues and Pandey join Knight Riders for WCPL

    Port of Spain, Trinidad, 7 July 2024 -- India internationals Jemimah Rodrigues and Shikha Pandey have joined the Trinbago Knight Riders for the 2024 Massy Women’s Caribbean Premier League. They will join Australians Meg Lanning and Jess Jonassen as the overseas players for the Knight Riders this season. 

     

    The Knight Riders have retained five of the players who represented them in the 2023 season with Deandra Dottin returning along with Shamila Connell, Kycia Knight, Zaida James and Samara Ramnath. 

     

    There are six more spots in the squad left to fill and these players will be selected at the WCPL draft which will take place in July. 

     

    The 2024 Massy CPL will take place in Trinidad from 21 to 29 August will all seven matches at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy. 

     

    The Trinbago Knight Riders squad before the draft is as follows:

    ABOUT THE MASSY WOMEN’S CARIBBEAN PREMIER LEAGUE:

     

    The Massy Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) was founded in 2022. The 2023 season saw an expanded schedule with the Barbados Royals winning the title. The three teams competing in the 2024 season will be the Barbados Royals, Guyana Amazon Warriors and the Trinbago Knight Riders. The WCPL sees the best players from across the region joined by outstanding overseas talent from around the world to play in front of crowds with the party atmosphere for which the Caribbean is so famous. 

     

    The Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League was founded in 2013 and sees the best men’s players from across the region join overseas superstars for world class T20 cricket.
