Breaking: Mikyle to debut in first test at Lord's

By: Staff Reporter, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts -- MIKYLE Louis will become the first Kittitian-born player to suit up for the West Indies when he takes the field for the regional side in the first test match at the home of cricket, Lords.

Louis was confirmed in the test team on Tuesday and will receive his player's cap on Wednesday morning to play at the iconic ground.

At an engagement this morning, the squad was announced and will feature: Kraigg Brathwaite (captain), Mikyle Louis (debut), Kirk McKenzie, Alick Athanaze, Kavem Hodge, Jason Holder, Joshua Da Silva (wk), Alzarri Joseph, Gudakesh Motie, Shamar Joseph, and Jayden Seales.

Louis was the first Kittitian to be selected before his brother, who was later chosen as a replacement for the injured Kemar Roach. His selection was based on his successful run-scoring during the regional four-day competition, where he ended as the top run-scorer.

The West Indies are on a three-match test series tour of England, with the first test set to begin at 5:00 a.m. Eastern Caribbean Time tomorrow.
