BASSETERRE, St. Kitts -- Police have confirmed that Shaquan Bridgewater of New Road Housing is the latest road fatality after succumbing to injuries following an early morning accident on Thursday.
At approximately 1:00 am, the Police received a report of a serious traffic accident on the Island’s main road at Needsmust. Emergency responders from the Police Force, Ambulance, and Fire and Rescue Services were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, first responders found a vehicle off the road near the entrance of Kumar’s Supermarket, facing east. The driver, who was trapped inside the vehicle, was extricated by Fire Officers.
Investigations revealed that the vehicle, motor car P 6077, driven by Bridgewater, was traveling towards Conaree when he lost control and collided with a concrete wall on the western side of the road.
Bridgewater was taken to the JNF Hospital where he died shortly thereafter.
