BASSETERRE, St. Kitts -- THE Police Force continues its efforts to remove illegal weapons from the streets of St. Kitts and Nevis, seizing a high-powered weapon in the Stapleton area.
The discovery was made by the St. Kitts-Nevis Defense Force after executing a search warrant on the premises of Bejay Tuckett in Stapleton on July 22, 2024. The search resulted in the discovery of an unlicensed firearm and several rounds of ammunition.
According to the police, officers uncovered a bag containing one firearm, a magazine, and 25 matching rounds of ammunition. Additionally, the bag contained clothing, including a face mask, gloves, a hoodie, and pants, which are suspected to have been used in the commission of a crime. Police did not provide the type of firearm or its matching rounds.
On July 24, 2024, Tuckett was formally arrested and charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm and possession of ammunition.
The RSCNPF remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of the community by actively pursuing and apprehending individuals involved in illegal activities.
