BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - POLICE have confirmed that Dean Boddie has died from injuries sustained during last evening's shooting incident in Tabernacle.
Deputy Commissioner Cromwell Henry disclosed that Boddie passed away at approximately 2:05 PM today (Aug 2). This incident brings the number of homicides for the year to 22.
At approximately 10:25 p.m., the police responded to a report of a shooting in Tabernacle Village. Upon arrival, they found Boddie with injuries near the primary school in the area.
According to the police, preliminary investigations revealed that Boddie was walking through the playing field in Tabernacle Village shortly after 10:00 p.m. when he was approached by an assailant who fired several shots at him.
Despite sustaining multiple gunshot injuries, Boddie managed to evade his attacker and collapsed near the Tabernacle Primary School. He was transported to the JNF Hospital, where he underwent emergency treatment.
Boddie remained hospitalized in critical but stable condition until he died.
