Port of Spain, Trinidad, 20 August 2024 -- The broadcasters for the Massy Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) have been confirmed. The tournament will be shown on leading broadcasters throughout the world and will be streamed on the CPL’s YouTube and Facebook pages in all locations outside the Caribbean.
The WCPL gets underway on 21 August and runs to the 29 August with all matches set to take place at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad. The tournament will feature some of the best cricketers from across the Caribbean and from around the world with the likes of Hayley Matthews, Deandra Dottin, Jemimah Rodrigues, Lauren Winfield-Hill, Chloe Tryon and Shikha Pandey part of the teams this year.
Pete Russell, CPL’s CEO, said: “The standard of the WCPL has never been higher and we are really excited to be bringing this amazing tournament to broadcasters around the world as well as our fans outside the Caribbean on our YouTube and Facebook pages. The Massy Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) was founded in 2022. The 2023 season saw an expanded schedule with the Barbados Royals winning the title. The three teams competing in the 2024 season will be the Barbados Royals, Guyana Amazon Warriors and the Trinbago Knight Riders. The WCPL sees the best players from across the region joined by outstanding overseas talent from around the world to play in front of crowds with the party atmosphere for which the Caribbean is so famous.
The Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League was founded in 2013 and sees the best men’s players from across the region join overseas superstars for world class T20 cricket.
