BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – The Police Force is continuing its efforts to combat the smuggling of cocaine into the Federation, with notable progress in arresting offenders.
Denny Harris, a resident of Lower Prickly Pear Alley, is the latest individual to face charges for this offense, following an search on Saturday (Sept. 7). The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) announced that Harris has been charged with Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Ammunition, Possession of Crack/Cocaine, and Possession of Crack/Cocaine with Intent to Supply.
The charges stem from the execution of a search warrant at Harris’ residence on September 7 by officers of the Special Services Unit (SSU) and the Community Safety Response Unit (CSRU), in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies.
During the search, officers seized a Ruger pistol along with a magazine containing nine rounds of live ammunition. In addition, three jars containing a white substance were confiscated, which subsequent testing confirmed to be cocaine.
The police have not disclosed the specific quantity of cocaine found. However, they confirmed that the charges for Possession of Firearm and Possession of Ammunition were filed on September 9, 2024, while the drug-related charges were brought against Harris on September 10, 2024.
