BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A joint law enforcement operation has led to the seizure of another illegal firearm on St. Kitts.
The operation was conducted on November 20, 2024, by the Violent Crime Unit of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) in collaboration with the St. Kitts Customs and Excise Department’s K9 Unit.
According to the police, the search operation focused on two abandoned houses in Lower Prickley Pear Alley.
At the end of the operation, the police removed a Tec-9 Draco firearm with a magazine containing 17 rounds of 7.62 ammunition, and six .9mm rounds of ammunition discovered. The ammunitions were found in different houses.
So far, no arrests have been made in connection with the seizure.
This operation is part of the police force’s intensified efforts to address a recent spike in gun violence in the Federation. Over recent months, the RSCNPF Successfully seized several illegal weapons as part of its ongoing crime-fighting initiatives.
