    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AS CONTEC DT celebrates its first anniversary, Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Sam Condor has applauded the local construction engineering company for maintaining high levels of service and excellence in business.

     

    “When the contemporary history of the economic and social development of SKN is written, the names of Lincoln Pemberton and Troy Douglas will be written in every chapter of that book,” Condor said. “Highest commendations are in order for the remarkable business acumen employed by CONTEC DT to ensure the achievement of this significant milestone.”

     

    Minister Condor made was speaking at a formal anniversary dinner and awards ceremony held at Sugar Bay Club on Saturday (Dec. 18). The dinner culminated a week of activities for the company and recognized the work of 17 employees of CONTEC DT over the years.

     

    Condor praised the eight-branched construction firm for being able to insulate itself in a “turbulent business environment” and to survive in a highly competitive and risky industry.

     

    “CONTEC DT was founded on good customer-relation. Being client-driven, the CONTEC’s admirable and wide-range aims and objectives sought to maintain a high standard of professional service, invest in income-generating ventures with a view to enhance profitability, generate employment and support community projects,” he said, adding that the company is an example of how entrepreneurship can have numerous benefits.

     

    The CEO’s of two of CONTEC DT’s leading companies, Lincoln Pemberton and Troy Douglas, were congratulated by the Deputy PM for their “astute leadership” that built a “quality corporate culture to flourish”.

     

    “CONTEC has exhibited and demonstrated a positive attitude, imagination and creativity that has captured the interest of all of us. It is my view that the CONTEC group of companies owes its remarkable success to two essential ingredients: quality leadership and quality corporate culture,” he concluded.

     

    Coming from CONTEC DT, Viera Galloway, Lolita Woodley, Toussaint Riley, Shirlita Burnham, Teon Peats and Nicolle Elliott received awards, while Jason McDonald was recognized for his work in CONTEC, one of the associate companies.

     

    Denrick Daniel, Eyon Lewis and Leroy Wilson from Construction Leasing Company (CONLEC); Campbell Mercer and Rosetta Arthurton from Heavy Equipment Sales and Services Company (HESSC); and Earnel Charles from Precast System Manufacturing (PSM) received awards for meritorious service and outstanding performances.

     

    Leroy Henry, Cuthbert Burrell, James Reid and Venon Evelyn of Block Technologies (BLOCTEC) and Nevis Concrete and Construction Supplies (NEVCON CS) were also recognized.

     

    CONTEC DT is an incorporated business that manages and markets the affairs of its eight associated businesses: CONTEC, NEVCON CS, CONLEC, BLOCTEC, HESSC, PSM, CONTEC Mortgage Finance and Federal Quarries.
