BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – An autopsy conducted on Jill Low has confirmed that her cause of death was drowning.
The incident occurred on November 23 at the Timothy Beach Pier in Frigate Bay, between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., according to police reports.
Jill Low and her husband, both visitors from the United Kingdom, were snorkeling at Shitten Bay when she was found unresponsive in the water. She was transported to Frigate Bay by a St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force Coast Guard vessel.
Efforts to revive her by medical personnel proved unsuccessful, and she was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
In a statement released this afternoon, the police confirmed the autopsy findings, stating that the cause of death was "drowning due to submersion in seawater."
