BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE have launched an investigation into an armed robbery that occurred in Gallows Bay, Nevis, on the evening of December 6, 2024.
According to police reports, the incident took place between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. The victim, a woman from Bath Village, Nevis, stated that while she was sitting in her vehicle with a friend, a masked man opened one of the rear doors, pointed a firearm at them, and demanded their belongings.
The victim complied, handing over her purse. The assailant fled the scene, and fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.
Police noted that no items of evidential value were recovered at the crime scene.
This incident comes amid a rise in robberies targeting small businesses in the Federation. Law enforcement authorities have intensified efforts to address crime and violence, achieving notable successes, including the seizure of several illegal firearms and ammunition in recent months.
