BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TWO families are in mourning as police continue to investigate a tragic traffic accident on the F.T. Williams Highway that claimed two lives and left others injured.
The accident occurred between 11:30 p.m. and midnight on December 6, 2024, and resulted in the deaths of 19-year-old Shida Jarvis and 18-year-old Malik Williams, both residents of St. Kitts.
According to police reports, the collision involved two vehicles. One was driven by 19-year-old Azzian Thomas of Wellington Road, St. Kitts, and the other by Kareem Richards of Lime Kiln, St. Kitts. Investigations suggest the vehicles collided head-on.
Jarvis and Williams, two of Thomas’ three passengers, were pronounced dead at the scene. Thomas, along with his other passenger, 19-year-old Zehian Jeffers of Pond’s Pasture, sustained serious injuries. Richards and his passenger, Ojani Williams of Lime Kiln, were also injured in the crash.
All injured individuals received treatment at the Joseph N. France General Hospital. Police confirmed in a recent press statement that Richards and Ojani Williams have since been discharged.
Investigations into the accident are ongoing.
