Police charge Valdez with Murder

By: Staff Reporter, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts — EIGHT months after the shooting death of 18-year-old Crisbel Rivera, police have formally charged Jesus Valdez in connection with the incident.

On April 17, between 8:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., gunshots erupted on John Street, Newtown. At the time, police reported finding Rivera, a national of the Dominican Republic who resided in Carty Alley, Newtown, lying motionless on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds.

In a press statement issued in April, police revealed that an armed assailant had fired several shots in Rivera's direction, striking him.

Today (Dec.13), police announced in a new statement that Valdez was charged with murder on December 12.
