BASSETERRE, St. Kitts — AFTER an intense semifinal round, the final seven contenders for the 2024 Calypso Monarch title have been selected.
The evening showcased a variety of thought-provoking social commentary, with each semifinalist displaying exceptional craft, talent, and lyrical skill. At the end of the event, Big Lice emerged as the frontrunner, securing 457 points.
Close on his heels was Drewzy, who garnered 453 points. Joining them in the finals are Lady Carens and Queen Kibi, both with 443 points, Issa Kamal with 434 points, Queen Singing Jackie with 429 points, and Lady Diva with 421 points. Mighty Freddy has been designated as the alternate.
The top seven from this round advanced to compete against the reigning champion, Queen Independent, on December 27th at Carnival Village for the prestigious Senior Calypso Monarch title.
