BASSETERRE, St. Kitts- PLAYWRIGHT Moses Byron is pleased to announce that the movie which he and his cast started in March 2008 is completed and would be launched on December 27 at 3:30 p.m at the Ocean Terrence Inn (OTI) Conference Room.

Speaking with Byron about the movie titled ‘Hurry Dog Eat Raw Corn’, he told SKNVibes that the movie deals with rebelliousness and impatient young people who are being too quick to experience many things before attaining the required age.

Rae-Dawn Thomas plays the leading role of a 14-year-old disobedient girl who ends up regretting some of her decisions. Other members of the cast include Ashanta Williams and Dion Browne.

‘Hurry Dog Eat Raw Corn’ was first written as a skit but was subsequently transformed into a monolog by the local playwright.

The movie, which is just a little over one hour, was filmed by Dele Adams and shot at various locations in the Federation. Byron said he hopes that this movie would create a positive impact on young people who think they know it all and have no time to wait.

“When they look at this movie and see the destruction hurriedness can cause, it will hopefully open their eyes and want them to change and cease from being rebellious,” he stated.

Byron added that this being the first movie out of St. Kitts, he would appreciate the support of everyone and encourages everybody to get their copy of the DVD which will be on sale after the launch.

He also has hopes of showing the movie in various communities and schools.
