BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE Federation woke up yesterday morning (Dec. 21) to the tragic news of another road fatality, leaving a family mourning after a traffic accident in the St. Peter's area.
The deceased has been identified as 29-year-old Simoneth Williams of St. Peter's, St. Kitts. According to a police statement, the incident occurred late on December 20, between 11:30 p.m. and midnight, along the island's main road in New Road, near the fencing of the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport’s runway.
Investigations conduted thus far by the police suggest that Williams was struck by a vehicle while walking along the main road.
She was rushed to the Joseph N. France General Hospital via ambulance but, sadly, succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival.
Police have identified both the vehicle and its driver. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
