CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – POLICE have reported the tragic death of a private contractor who was electrocuted while attempting to establish a connection to a Nevis Electricity Company (NEVLEC) source for a residential property.
According to an official police statement, Berley Walwyn, a resident of Hardtimes, Nevis, was fatally injured on Thursday, December 22, in Stoney Grove, Nevis. The incident occurred between 9:45 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Walwyn was electrocuted while “attempting to establish a temporary electrical connection to a live NEVLEC main source.”
Despite efforts to revive him, Walwyn was pronounced dead shortly after the incident. An autopsy will be conducted to confirm the exact cause of death, and the authorities have assured the public that further updates on the investigation will be provided as necessary.
