BASSETERRE, St. Kitts — THE police released additional details on Tuesday (Jan. 28) regarding the derailment of a Scenic Railway train during a sightseeing tour with tourists on board.
According to the report, the incident occurred on Sunday (Jan. 26) between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. in St. Paul’s Village. During the tour, the train experienced engine issues, causing the last of its five cars to derail partially.
At the time, 200 passengers were aboard. Fortunately, only one person reported a painful hand, with no other injuries sustained.
Following the derailment, Scenic Railway buses quickly transported all passengers back to their cruise ships.
