BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE have confirmed that Jesus Valdez of John Street, Newtown, St. Kitts, who has frequently been on their radar, has been sentenced to seven months in prison.

Valdez appeared before Her Honour Sherry-Ann Liburd-Charles at the Magistrate’s Court in Basseterre, where he was sentenced on January 28, 2025, for the offense of battery. He has been remanded to His Majesty’s Prison.

Authorities have linked Valdez to several high-profile shooting incidents over the past year. He was charged in connection with the double homicide on August 1, in which 30-year-old Devon Parris and 9-year-old J’Marni Smithen were fatally shot in Newton Ground.

Additionally, Valdez faces charges related to the April 17 murder of 18-year-old Crisbel Rivera of Carty Alley.
