By: Staff Reporter, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force has announced that Dwight James, 34, of Farm Site, Sandy Point, has been sentenced to 18 years in His Majesty’s Prison for Manslaughter by Virtue of Diminished Capacity.

James was originally charged with Murder following an incident on August 8, 2022, which resulted in the death of Luis K. James, also of Farm Site, Sandy Point.

However, he later pleaded guilty to manslaughter on November 28, 2024.

On February 3, 2025, the High Court in Basseterre handed down the sentence, presided over by His Lordship Justice Iain Morley, KC. James' time spent on remand will be deducted from his sentence, and he will be eligible for early release after serving one-third of his sentence with good behavior.
