Dr. Wilson will be victorious following the elections, say voters

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, December, 22, 2009 (Labour Secretariat) - The residents of Sandy Point and Fig Tree (constituency #5)-both old and young alike- are confident that the St.Kitts/Nevis Labour Party candidate for that area, Dr. Norgen Wilson will be victorious in the upcoming general elections.

Following a survey-type investigation, it was also found that the general consensus is that Sandy Point is no longer a stronghold of the People’s Action Movement (PAM).

Additionally, many residents said they are dissatisfied with the representation of PAM lone Parliamentarian for Constituency #5, Shawn Richards.

    Glenville Mills
“I believe that Dr. Norgen Wilson is the perfect choice of person for the community of Constituency #5. Dr. Wilson has focused and has placed himself as one of the strongest candidates in the upcoming general elections.

"People claim Sandy Point is a PAM stronghold, but so far Dr. Wilson has made great inroads. In fact he has not been in Parliament as yet and he has already worked to help distribute over 200 lots of land. He has helped landowners to get houses. Not only that, but he has brought togetherness in the community of Sandy Point where he plans activities for the young people in finding a remedy to crime and violence. I believe in the upcoming elections the Labour Party could be very proud of themselves for selecting Dr. Norgen Wilson, with the help of the Almighty God and the togetherness of the community.

"The people have recognized that Shawn Richards has failed and it’s not to say that they hate Shawn Richards but it is about proper representation and since the representation from him has come short from Shawn, Dr. Wilson is ready to take up the slack and go forward.”

    Kennedy Stevens
“I think Dr. Wilson is working at his best right now. For the upcoming general election, the race between Dr. Wilson and Shawn Richards is very tight. Once ago parents were the ones who were over their children’s votes. But nowadays the young people are looking for a bright future and someone to represent them presently and in the future.”

    Lelia Buchanan
“I think Dr. Wilson will do well in the upcoming general elections. He is very outgoing and reaches out to people. I don’t think Sandy Point is (dominantly) supportive of the PAM party any more.”

    Dale ‘DJ Steele’ Lloyd
“Dr. Wilson and I grew up together. He has been a friend of mine since primary school days. I’m confident that he will do well in the upcoming general elections. He is a people-person. He is very determined, dedicated and outgoing. I can see that he genuinely has the best interest of the people at heart.”

Meanwhile, Dr. Wilson said he has no fear contesting the general elections.

“I don’t have any fear. It’s easy for me because I’m going into an election  to a seat which I don’t have  and so I think the person who should be worried  is the one who has the seat  and will lose it."

He went on to say, “If you have a representative who has not been working for the people and they have seen no real results from that representative, then the people would definitely have a change of heart.”
