WASHINGTON, DC – CONCERNS over global aviation safety continue to grow after another plane crash, this time in Toronto, Canada.
A Delta Air Lines regional flight flipped on the runway while landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport. The flight, Delta 4819, had departed from Minneapolis and landed at approximately 2:18 p.m. local time (3:18 p.m. St. Kitts time).
"Toronto Pearson is aware of an incident upon landing involving a Delta Airlines plane arriving from Minneapolis," the airport stated in a social media post.
Authorities confirmed that all 80 passengers and crew members were accounted for, with nine people reportedly injured.
This marks the third major aviation incident in recent weeks.
