BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force has charged Jamar Woodstock of Stoney Grove, Nevis, with three offenses: Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Ammunition, and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply.
According to police reports, the charges resulted from a search warrant executed at Woodstock’s home and vehicle on February 12. During the search, officers discovered a .25 calibre semi-automatic pistol, a single .25 calibre round of ammunition, and a large quantity of vegetable material, later confirmed to be cannabis.
In recent months, law enforcement has intensified search operations in an effort to combat the ongoing gun-related violence affecting the Federation. Last year, St. Kitts and Nevis recorded 28 homicides, prompting the Ministry of National Security and law enforcement agencies to ramp up stop-and-search operations and targeted property searches in known hotspots.
These measures have led to the confiscation of several illegal firearms and matching rounds of ammunition as authorities continue their crackdown on crime.
