By: Terresa McCall, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE have yet to make an arrest as it relates to a shooting incident that took place on Monday (Dec. 21) evening in Basseterre.

According to a communiqué issued by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force’s Press and Public Relations Office, “…at approximately 10:15 p.m. Police responded to a report of a shooting at Trafalgar Village. Investigations revealed that a number of shots were fired and the left and right front door glasses of a motor jeep were damaged. No one has been reported injured and the Police are continuing their investigations into the matter.”

Further information received by this media house suggests that the incident occurred at about 10:00 p.m. and the vehicle that was damaged is a white jeep owned by Iston Williams of Trafalgar Village.

SKNVibes understands that a large number of spent shells were found within the vicinity of the incident and one warhead was found in Williams’ yard.

While this has not been confirmed, rumours are rife that that warhead may have been the same one which penetrated one of the vehicle’s right doors and exited one of its left windows.

Other information gathered by SKNVibes suggests that the intended target(s) of the incident managed to flee the area without suffering any injury.

As far as this media house is aware, no one has been held in connection with the incident and investigations are still in progress.

Persons having information about this incident are asked to contact the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at 465-2241 extension 230. The public is reminded that information can be given on condition of anonymity and all received information will be handled with the strictest confidence.
