Trump’s tariffs to take effect on Tuesday

By: Staff Reporter in Washington, DC, SKNVibes.com

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. President Donald Trump has confirmed that his promised tariffs on Mexico and Canada will take effect tomorrow (Mar.4), sending shockwaves through the markets.

Speaking at a press engagement today (Mar. 3), Trump reaffirmed that the tariffs are set to go "into effect tomorrow" as part of his efforts to pressure the United States' two largest trading partners.

The tariffs—essentially an import tax—have been introduced as a measure to curb what Trump and his allies claim is the influx of illegal migrants and fentanyl into the country.

Under the new policy, the U.S. will impose a 25% tariff on goods from Mexico and Canada, in addition to the existing 10% tariff on Chinese imports.

This move is expected to have a ripple effect on the Caribbean region, particularly in nations like St. Kitts and Nevis, which rely heavily on imported food and other essential goods.
