Five teams register wins in NBGC Premier League

    March 4th, 2025 -- There were wins for Rams Village Superstars, SOL IAS Conaree FC, Tropical Springs Bath United, MFCR Old Road United Jets and Azul Cayon Rockets in the second match week of the 2025 NBGC Premier League at Warner Park. On Friday February 28, SOL IAS Conaree FC came from 2-1 down to win 5-2 against newly promoted Mantab.

    After the match Coach of Conaree Al Richards said he made some changes in the second half, including the team formation, which led to the victory. “First let me say well done to my team, for coming back to win 5-2….That's something we've been training now a while...we use experience, use our skill, and just break them down easy,” Richards said.

     

    Coach of Mantab Vaughn Patrick, said the team lost focus in the second half, after going in with the lead. “We were up 2-1 in the first half. I think the guys put in the work but I think some defensive blunders costs us couple goals. We have to learn from them. We have to go back and work on our mistakes,” Patrick said.

     

    On Saturday March 1st, it was another come from behind victory, this time for Bath United, that fell 1-0 in the first half against Jones Group Sandy Point.

    Later that night it took just one goal for Village Superstars to settle the early season rivalry with defending champs SL Horsfords St. Paul’s United. That goal came in the 5th minute from Kimaree Rogers. Then on Sunday March 2, in the first of the double header, MFCR Old Road defeated Elco Ltd. Security Forces 3-0.

    Dequan Hamilton with 2 goals - 80th & 86th min

     

    Then the final match of the weekend saw Azul Cayon Rockets easily dispatching Development Bank St. Peters FC 2-0.

    Vinceroy Nelson 74th min

     

    The NBGC Premier League continues Friday with a major showdown between Rams Village Superstars and Azul Cayon Rockets at 8pm at Warner Park.
