Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 12, 2025 – In celebration of International Women’s Day, CIBC Caribbean visited Verchild’s High School to engage and inspire young female students from the 3rd, 4th, and 5th forms. The session, led by Ms. Eberna Whyte, Branch Manager, focused on this year’s theme: "For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment."
Ms. Whyte delivered an empowering address that challenged gender perceptions in leadership and encouraged students to see themselves as future leaders. Through interactive discussions, real-life examples of influential Caribbean women, and engaging activities, the students explored the significance of resilience, confidence, and hard work in breaking barriers.
"Leadership is not about being perfect. It’s about having the courage to try, the strength to continue, and the confidence to inspire others," Ms. Whyte emphasized during her closing remarks.
As part of the celebration, CIBC Caribbean also surprised Ymani Rodney & Zariah Jeffers, two top-performing female students from the school, with a special brunch at the Royal St. Kitts Marriott Resort, recognizing their academic excellence and dedication.
CIBC Caribbean remains committed to fostering empowerment and leadership among young women in St. Kitts and beyond. The bank continues to support initiatives that encourage equality and create opportunities for the next generation of female leaders.
