BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, December 25th 2009 (PAM Secretariat) - The various constituency representatives of the People’s Action Movement (PAM) have hosted several parties for children nationwide in their quest to spread the joy and spirit of Christmas.
Party Leader Lindsay Grant said that the annually looked forward to event forms part of his party’s attempt at ensuring each and every child is specially treated and receives a gift during the festive season.
“There are many children who are unfortunate and needy, and we strongly believe that as a party it’s our responsibility to show that someone cares irrespective of the circumstances,” Grant said.
He stressed that the parties are usually open to all regardless of the political affiliation of their parents or guardians. “All are usually welcomed at these parties as the People’s Action Movement is an all inclusive party and, therefore, we believe in spreading joy and happiness while achieving togetherness and unity,” Grant declared.
A number of parents have expressed satisfaction and appreciation at the cheer that the party has brought to the children throughout the Federation. The party Leader said that thousands of children have been feted at the various parties held in every constituency within St. Kitts while adding that several thousands of toys were also distributed to them.
He noted that his candidates fanned out across the country to celebrate the season with the children, ensuring that the events were well attended.
Grant extended gratitude to his party’s supporters for their continuous generous donations, which he stressed contributed to the success of the event. He also expressed thanks to the children and their families nationwide for allowing his party to celebrate the festive season with them.
