BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER of the National Carnival Committee and Judging Coordinator for Street Activities, Clement ‘Monarch’ O’Garro declared that 26 songs have so far been registered for the Road March competition.

O’Garro told SKNVibes on Thursday (Dec. 24) that one of the criteria for a song to be adjudged winner of the Road March title, it has to be registered with the National Carnival Committee and so must be the band or hi-fi system that is pushing the song.

O’Garro said that so far the Nu Vybes Band had registered 10 songs, Higher Heightz Band six, Small Axe Band four, Konnectionz Band two, Kollision Band two song and Bary Cranstoun one song.

The back-to-back Road March Champs, Grand Masters Band, which is hoping to have three consecutive wins, will be pushing one song for Road March title - ‘Buss U Bubble’.

There will be four judging points in Basseterre…Scotia Bank, Development Bank, National Bank and one blind spot.

“However, only the first three times they pass each judging point will it be counted,” O’Garro said.

According to O’Garro, the judges for the Road March would be done by persons who are affiliated with the music industry.

The Road March title will be judged on J ‘Ouvert (Dec. 26) and Parade Day (Jan. 1).
