BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE have released more information regarding the sudden death of a young man in the Pond Hill area of Nevis earlier this week.
In a media statement issued on March 27, authorities confirmed that Chavilal Basdeo, 36, of Clay Ghaut, Nevis, was walking along the island's main road when he suddenly collapsed. The incident occurred on March 26, between 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Responding officers arrived at the scene to find Basdeo lying motionless at the roadside in Pond Hill.
Despite efforts by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to resuscitate him, their attempts were unsuccessful.
The police report noted that Basdeo’s body showed no visible signs of injury or trauma. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
