Grant wishes Federation a productive and successful 2010

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, December 26th 2009 (PAM Secretariat) – On behalf of his party, Leader of the People’s Action Movement (PAM) Lindsay Grant wished the citizens and residents of St. Kitts and Nevis a fulfilling and productive 2010 with a hope that the Federation would return to a state of stability. 
 
Grant said that a very bright light is at the end of the tunnel and this is the last Christmas residents and citizens of the Federation would spend under this cloud of instability and challenges.
 
He expressed confidence that the public would go out in 2010 and vote for change, stressing that it is critical for them to elect a new government to efficiently and effectively manage their affairs for the next five years.
 
“While I wish you all a very productive and stable 2010, I also use this time to remind you about the importance of you electing a government that will be accountable, professional, mature, non-discriminative, non-victimizing and a government that doesn’t see and make decisions down party lines but rather sees us all as stakeholders in the land of our birth,” Grant said.
 
The PAM Leader stressed that people must be able to go around the Federation conducting their business or living their lives without fear of being affected by criminality.
 
“It’s time that this Federation can return to once again being safe, as we have to stand up and ensure that it is entrusted into safe hands as people must be able to go around doing their business and do so in a safe manner.”
 
Also, Grant stated, “I wish to urge all those who are supporters of the Labour Party to vote not by party conviction but rather by policies conviction, thus giving the People’s Action Movement an opportunity to mange their affairs. A PAM Government will not victimize or discriminate, as we believe in equality.”
 
Grant noted that his party has a number of initiatives, which he said are aimed at controlling and reducing crime and violence in St. Kitts and Nevis while building confidence among citizens and residents.
 
This, he said, is critically important, reiterating his view that law and order should always be the number one priority for any government.
 
Grant also predicted that come 2010 Christmas and Carnival he would be speaking to the Federation as its new Prime Minister.
