BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A 70-year-old man has died following a traffic accident in Keys Village, becoming the latest fatality on the Federation’s roads.
Police confirmed that Wrenford Dore of New Road, St. Kitts, succumbed to his injuries at the Joseph N. France General Hospital in the early hours of April 26, 2025. The accident occurred the previous evening, April 25, between 4:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., near the Louisa Phillip-Jones Community Centre.
According to preliminary investigations, a vehicle driven by Winston Griffin of Monkey Hill was travelling west from Cayon to Basseterre when it veered off the road and plunged into Keys Ghaut.
Emergency personnel from the St. Kitts-Nevis Fire and Rescue Services responded swiftly, extricating both occupants from the wreckage. Both men sustained serious injuries and were transported by ambulance to the JNF General Hospital.
Mr. Dore later died from his injuries, while Mr. Griffin remains hospitalized in stable condition.
Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
