Man charged with Rape as police remind public of secrecy laws

By: Staff Reporter, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force is reminding the public that the identities of individuals involved in sexual offence cases—both victims and accused—are protected by law.

In a media statement, the police cited the Offences Against the Person Act, CAP 4.21, Part XVI, Section 73, which prohibits the publication of the identity of anyone charged with offences listed under Section 72 (2).

This reminder follows the laying of two charges of rape against a male suspect in St. Kitts. The alleged offences occurred on March 23, 2024, and between April 1 and April 26, 2024. The individual was formally charged at the Tabernacle Police Station on May 2, 2025.
