BASSETERRE, St. Kitts — POLICE are intensifying their search for the driver involved in a hit-and-run that has claimed the life of Ike Tross.
The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. in the Wades Garden area. Authorities have yet to identify the driver of the vehicle responsible.
As part of the investigation, police executed search warrants to access CCTV footage. They are also employing drone surveillance and ground searches based on leads developed since the incident.
Tross succumbed to his injuries around 11:00 p.m. while receiving treatment at the Joseph N. France General Hospital, police confirmed.
Law enforcement continues its efforts to combat reckless driving, which remains a growing concern across the Federation. In recent months, the government has amended several laws to impose harsher penalties for dangerous driving.
Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Adlai Smith has emphasized strict enforcement. His office recently charged two individuals in separate fatal road incidents.
