BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE have arrested and charged 23-year-old Zadique Buttler of Cayon with Conspiracy to Commit Murder in connection with the fatal shooting of Recaldo Marsham and the attempted murder of Terrence Ritchen.
The incident occurred on May 21, 2025, on Tucket Street in the Pond’s Pasture area of Basseterre. According to police, Marsham was fatally shot at the scene, while Ritchen sustained injuries in the attack and was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment.
In a statement issued earlier this week, the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) described the arrest as a "significant development" in the ongoing investigation. Authorities confirmed that the case is being handled by the Violent Crime Unit, which continues to pursue multiple leads.
“This arrest represents a significant development in the investigation, which remains active and thorough as officers continue to follow all leads in the case,” the statement read.
The RSCNPF also reiterated its commitment to upholding public safety and ensuring that those responsible for violent crimes are held accountable.
Police are urging anyone with information that may assist the investigation to come forward, emphasizing that public cooperation remains vital to the success of their efforts.
