BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE are continuing their investigation into the recent robbery of the Panda Chinese Supermarket, located in the Upper Market Street area.
According to a press release from the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, the incident took place on the afternoon of June 4, 2025. Around 2:30 p.m., a lone male suspect entered the supermarket wearing a baby blue t-shirt, dark jeans, and a black helmet.
The suspect reportedly brandished what appeared to be a firearm and demanded cash from the store’s cashier. He then made off with an undisclosed sum of money, fleeing the scene on foot with a black and white bag.
Police have since reviewed surveillance footage and say they are actively pursuing all available leads.
In an update issued this afternoon, law enforcement officials confirmed the arrest of Andrew Herbert of Finnes Avenue in connection with the robbery. Herbert had previously been named in a Wanted Bulletin issued by the police.
The incident at Panda Chinese Supermarket is one of several targeting Chinese-owned businesses in recent weeks.
