Invitation to Public Stakeholder Consultation on the SKN TransWater Project

By: Water Services Department, Press Release

June 11th, 2025 -- The Water Services Department is pleased to announce significant progress on the SKN TransWater Project, a flagship initiative developed in collaboration with the Green Climate Fund (GCF). This transformative project aims to transition St. Kitts and Nevis toward a low-carbon, climate-resilient water supply sector, aligning with the Federation’s Water Adaptation Plan, the Sustainable Island State Agenda, and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The SKN TransWater Project is in the Project Preparation Facility (PPF) Stage, following approval by the GCF. This stage involves conducting key preparatory studies, including feasibility studies, environmental and social assessments, and the development of project-level indicators. These elements are essential for designing a technically and financially sound proposal ahead of the final approval stage, expected in 2026.

As part of our commitment to transparency, inclusivity, and community engagement, the Water Services Department invites the public to a Stakeholder Consultation Meeting to learn more about the project and provide input to help shape its design.
