Forde injured in attempted murder

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE are investigating an attempted murder that occurred Wednesday evening (June 18), which left 23-year-old Jelani Forde of the Harry Phipps Housing Project nursing gunshot injuries.

     

    According to police reports, the incident occurred around 9:10 p.m. in Half Way Tree. Forde was reportedly sitting in a friend’s yard when he was approached by a lone, masked gunman who opened fire.

     

    Forde tried to escape but was struck multiple times, sustaining gunshot wounds to both feet and his left hand.

     

    He was initially transported to the Pogson Hospital by private vehicle before being transferred to the Joseph N. France General Hospital by ambulance. He remains warded in stable condition.

     

    This shooting adds to a string of gun-related incidents in recent weeks across the Federation, several of which have resulted in fatalities.
