GWP-C Congratulates PISLM on Host Country Agreement with Grenada

    ST. GEORGE’S GRENADA, June 23, 2025 - Dr. Roxanne Graham-Victor, Regional Coordinator of GWP-C and Member of the GWP-C Steering Committee- Mr. Trevor Thompson, were among delegates that witnessed the historic signing of the on Tuesday 17th, June 2025, at the Radisson Resorts Grenada, by the outgoing Executive Director Mr. Calvin James and Grenada’s Minister responsible for the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification and Minister of Economic Development and Planning, Agriculture and Lands, Forestry and Blue Economy- Hon. Lennox J. Andrews.

     

    Other delegates included the Hon. Adrian Forde- Minister of Environment and National Beautification, Green and Blue Economy of Barbados (incoming Chair of the PISLM Ministerial Council), Hon Kerryne James- Minister for Minister for Climate Resilience, the Environment and Renewable Energy and Hon. Vaughn P. Miller- Minister for the Environment and Natural Resources of the Bahamas; along with focal points for the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification and key stakeholders. Dr. Graham-Victor also expressed her gratitude to outgoing Executive Director of the PISLM Mr.Calvin James for his unwavering commitment to the Caribbean Small Island Developing States.

     

    “We also take this moment to recognise the leadership of Mr. Calvin James, whose dedication has shaped the sustainable land management agenda across our region. As GWP-C looks ahead to the formalization of our partnership through our upcoming MoU, we remain committed to supporting the Caribbean Drought Initiative and co-creating climate-resilient, water-secure solutions with PISLM and its Member States,” she said.

     

    GWP-C remains ready and committed to supporting PISLM and other regional partners in developing crucial solutions. GWP-C particularly looks forward to collaboration with the Partnership Initiative for Sustainable Land Management (PISLM) for the implementation of the Caribbean Drought Initiative.
