Senior hotel official dies suddenly in Nevis

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – BILLY Cueto, General Manager of the Four Seasons Resort in Nevis, died suddenly on Saturday morning (Jun. 28) after collapsing while walking along Jessup’s Beach Road.

     

    Police confirmed the incident in a brief statement, noting that a passerby called emergency services, but despite resuscitation efforts, Cueto was pronounced dead at the scene.

     

    News of his unexpected passing sent shockwaves across the island, with Premier Mark Brantley among those paying tribute to the prominent hospitality leader, writing  that he was “deeply saddened by the sudden loss of my dear friend, Billy Cueto, General Manager of Four Seasons Resort, Nevis."

     

    The Premier described Cueto as more than just a resort executive, calling him a “passionate visionary who deeply cared for our island and its people.”

     

    "His infectious enthusiasm for hospitality and his unwavering dedication to excellence transformed not just the Resort, but also the experiences of every guest who visited,” Brantley added.

     

    Reflecting on Cueto’s character, Brantley noted that his “laughter, kindness, and genuine spirit" created lasting memories for many, fostering a sense of community and warmth within the local tourism sector, emphasizing that he had a unique ability to make everyone feel valued.

     

    The Premier extended heartfelt condolences to Cueto’s wife, family, friends, and the entire Four Seasons team, describing him as “a remarkable human being whose presence will be deeply missed.
