BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – JAMAICAN reggae artiste Tanya Stephens left her fans craving for more following her little over half an hour performance on New Year’s night at Carnival Village, as a part of the 2009-2010 National Carnival celebrations.

Some fans were left disappointed after the ‘Boom Wuk’ singer appeared on the stage sometime around 1:00 a.m. and performed short portions of ‘A Me and You Dat’, ‘These Streets’, ‘Home Alone’ and S.O.S, amongst others.

After completing her performance, the signer was asked to return onstage. She did as requested, performed two more songs and said goodnight for the last time.

A number of home-grown talents were also on display. Infamus out of Cayon performed for a short time as there were some technical difficulties, while Ashkanaz thrilled the crowd with his roaring voice and energetic performance but was cut short after he started voicing a new song which abused the government.

The H20 Dancers also took to the stage and danced for maybe a little over five minutes which was definitely crowd pleasing.

Most people however claimed that the highlight of the evening was when Sweet Sister Sensia and DJ Yardy did their part of keeping the standing audience ‘alive’, as they gave different scenarios then played songs to counteract them.

They also invited two young ladies onstage to dance with the DJ, one of whom shied away while DJ Yardy lifted the other around him and gyrated across the stage.

The show came to an end sometime before 2:00 a.m.
